My Digital Story (Rough Draft)

10 comments:

  1. This is what I thought. See if it matches what you wanted your audience to know.
Purpose: Focus is clear throughout story
Dramatic Question: Always wanting to be a cheerleader.
Emotion: Caring about the hard work put into the sport of cheerleading.
Economy: Story is between 3-5 minutes
Images: Pictures are good and convey each part of the story. I especially like the video at the end when they announce you are the winners.
Audio: I could hear the click of the mouse between slides or something similar. It sounded like part of the story was recorded at different times. Your voice sounded louder at times than others. But your voice was clear throughout the story

  2. Brianna,
I really liked your story, and was rooting for you from the start. I vaguely remembered that championship, but wasn’t sure if my memory was correct, so I was anxious watching your story, wondering what the end result would be. What a wonderful culmination to your cheer career! I was taken in from the start, with your description of how you wanted to be cheerleader from a young age, and the picture of you when you were just starting out. It got me interested from the beginning. When you got to the competition, I think the line that was so meaningful to me, and really exemplified the anxiety of the competition, was when you said that you would be “judged by people who don’t know us or our story.” I think the whole point of your digital story was to explain your own personal story and journey as a cheer team athlete. It’s so much more than most people realize. Ending your story with no narration and just a short video clip of the moment the winning squad was announced was perfect, just a perfect ending. Wonderful job.

  3. Overall, a great story of something positive that happened in your life! I know nothing of cheerleading, but the whole story is exciting and kept me waiting to see what happened next.
    1. Purpose- to tell us of a wonderful event in your life
    2. Dramatic Question- your first line, telling us that you always wanted to cheer
    3. Emotion- so happy! we all have something in our lives that we worked hard to achieve, and can relate to how you felt when you won this competition.
    4. Economy- length was good.
    5. Images- I love the real photos and the way you ended with the actual video was awesome!
    6. Audio- when you do add some music, make it happy and cheery :)

  4. I think that your purpose is clear and remains consistent throughout your storyline. The overflowing joy of happiness is present; especially within the video win the announcers reveal you as champs!! I love it! Very intense and leaves the audience with a happy ending. I think the emotional lead up could be focused on more with some background music, but I honestly think you did a great job! I also love that you went with a sports/ team theme for your story!

  5. Brianna,

This is a great digital story!! I love the purpose of this story and it's one that so many great stories are based off of: someone wants something really bad and will work very hard to get it. I can only imagine what it felt like to win first place. I am sure it felt amazing. I hope we can all relate to the emotion of working really hard and finally succeeding at what we are putting so much time and work in to achieving. The images were great and were chosen very wisely. I really like how the pictures are stepping stones to the final victory. The ending with celebration was a perfect way to conclude the story.

    Awesome story, Brianna!!

  6. Your purpose was clear from the beginning, and the theme of your story is very relatable--You set your mind to a goal, and you work your hardest to achieve it. I think the emotion you conveyed when your team had reached the goal you set for yourselves was something we can all relate to. Your story was a good length, and it kept my attention. I liked the personal images you chose. I felt that they flowed well, and your video clip at the end added a little extra something I wasn't expecting. Nice job!

  7. Brianna,
This is a great story. I liked how you used a theme about teamwork and self-determination. It is obvious that this moment means a lot to you. In your explanation of the emotion and preparation behind your cheerleading routine you talked about how you and your teammates set your mind to a goal and achieved it together. I also enjoyed your video at the end. The only thing I would suggest would be to add some music.

  8. The best thing about your story is: It is team and sports oriented- many people can relate to this.
I would like to know more about: your high school
One thing you should think about changing is: adding some music to the story at times..especially at the end.
Another thing I like about your story is: it is about achieveing and reaching a goal you had to work hard for.

  9. I really liked the authentic video of your team running out at the end and screaming in excitement as they received the award! I agree with others that adding music to help with the suspense would add to the flow of your story. I think adding transitional effects between images will also help.

  10. The best thing about your story is how personal it is. It's clear you love cheerleading and that this was a very rewarding moment for you. There's nothing like working hard for something and having that hard work pay off.

Purpose: To tell the story of your senior year cheerleading.
Dramatic Question: I think this could be something like "how hard work pays off" or even how rewarding it can be to do something you love.
Emotion: There is a lot of emotion here. Your story is very personal, and it's something that means a lot to you. It shows.
Images: I LOVE that you used your own pictures. All your images are of you and your teammates, which straightens your purpose.
Audio: Your narration is great. It's easy to hear and understand.
